An air quality alert has been issued for the day.
The Department of Environmental Protection announced a Code Orange Alert for Butler and surrounding counties.
The alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups—which includes children, the elderly, and people suffering from asthma, heart disease, or other lung diseases.
Those groups should avoid outdoor activities today.
