The Alameda Waterpark will not be opening on time this year due to a lack of lifeguards.
Butler County officials say they hope the delayed opening will only be for one or two weeks, with the goal of opening no later than June 19th.
The county though is offering a new program that they hope will spur interest in lifeguarding. Employees will be paid anywhere from $10 to $12 per hour and also get $1,600 in incentives. That includes certification fees, referrals, a complimentary family pool pass, and more.
