The Associated Press is calling the Pennsylvania Senate race for Republican Dave McCormick.
The race has been tight since votes were cast on Election Day, but the AP finally called the race for McCormick yesterday.
However, Democrat Bob Casey said there are still outstanding ballots to be counted and he believes that the result could still get inside the automatic recount margin.
“There are tens of thousands of ballots across the Commonwealth still to count, which includes provisional ballots, military and overseas ballots, and mail ballots,” Maddy McDaniel of the Bob Casey campaign said. “This race is within half a point and cannot be called while the votes of thousands of Pennsylvanians are still being counted. We will make sure every Pennsylvanian’s voice is heard.”
If the vote count does hold, McCormick would take over the Senate seat that had been held by Casey since 2007.
