Restrictions on crowd size implemented by Governor Tom Wolf could temporarily return following a ruling by a federal appeals court.
On Thursday afternoon, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals put a hold on a recent ruling by Judge William Stickman IV that threw out crowd size limits made by the Wolf administration as a result of COVID-19.
In his argument before the Philadelphia-based appeals court, PA Attorney General Josh Shapiro argued that the limits are saving lives and eliminating them during the course of the ongoing appeal could result in loss of life.
This ruling allows for the Wolf administration to again enforce the limit of 25 people maximum at an indoor event and 250 people maximum at an outdoor event while the appeal of the Stickman ruling is considered.
