Following the groundbreaking ceremony marking a broadband expansion project in northern Butler County, another round of funding is now available to expand internet service.
State officials say the application period is now open for the second and final round of broadband funding, which is $1.16 billion and is known as BEAD funding.
Butler County has partnered with Armstrong once again to propose a “private public partnership” to continue broadband expansion in the county.
If awarded the funding, the county would look to target underserved areas in the eastern portion of the county.
