Armstrong has announced the results from a recent event to help lessen hunger in our area.
As part of the Breaking Bread program, Pizza with a Purpose at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry saw more than 150 participants purchase pizza boxes filled with slices from participating local vendors.
This year the third annual event raised over $3,300 for Inspired Hearts and Hands with that money being used to purchase 133 pairs of athletic shoes to those in need.
Attendees also participated in a raffle of items donated by local businesses and donated boxes of cereal to benefit those helped by the organization.
