Teachers in the Armstrong School district are responding to the school board’s proposal to furlough teachers.
The district has proposed to furlough 14 teachers and two licensed practical nurses. Union officials say the proposal cuts will impact a number of subjects, including the elimination of the French program.
Union leaders say this decision will impact students and not allow the community to thrive.
The Armstrong Board must vote to approve any furloughs; a vote to approve the budget is set for June 23rd.
