Armstrong is kicking off their annual Avenge Hunger Month.
The initiative is a part of Armstrong’s Breaking Bread program, which aims to fight hunger across the area.
During Avenge Hunger Month, local Armstrong stores will collect non-perishable food and monetary donations for local feeding programs.
The first Avenge Hunger Month was held in 2018 and since that time the initiative has raised nearly $75,000 and has collected over 135,000 pounds of food.
Armstrong says much of the success of the program comes from community partners who help to collect donations, including the County of Butler, Butler Cheerleaders, local elementary schools, and other local businesses to collect donations.
