A water rescue team had to be mobilized Thursday afternoon in response to a vehicle accident in Buffalo Township.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center just before 5 p.m. for a vehicle over a hillside and into water near the intersection of South Pike and Sarver Roads.
Crews from Buffalo Township, Sarver, and Saxonburg arrived to find three occupants out and above the water. The Butler County Water Rescue team was also requested but then canceled. Rope equipment was needed to successfully rescue the motorists.
A Life Flight medical helicopter was called to land at Buffalo Elementary School for transport of a motorist with unknown injuries to Pittsburgh.
