After an audit of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the Auditor General found the office had several inadequate business handlings.
According to a release from the Auditor General Tim DeFoor, the Sheriff’s office was given three issues to address before the next audit.
The office had inadequate accountability over funds held in escrow, inadequate control over manual receipts, and inadequate duties when handling cash.
The audit did not accuse the office of any wrongdoing and offered instructions on how to better deal with the presented problems.
The full audit can be found here.
