The state’s auditor general is moving the task of auditing schools under a different department.
Tim DeFoor announced yesterday that effective April 22nd, the responsibility to audit schools will now fall to the Department of Education.
He says that the auditor general office has been handling school audits on behalf of the education department for decades. But, staffing shortages is forcing him to move that responsibility back to education.
