Austin Dillon won a rain-delayed and crash-filled race at Daytona International Speedway to earn his way into the Cup Series playoffs. The race was rained out Saturday, then was delayed with 21 laps remaining for several hours Sunday. Dillon escaped a front of the field crash which eliminated nearly half the field and drove to victory lane for the first time this season, and second time in his career at Daytona. His win snapped a 78-race winless streak, and eliminated Martin Truex, Jr. from the Nascar championship playoffs. Ryan Blaney secured the final playoff spot by three points over Truex, Jr.
