Authorities are continuing their investigation into a recent scam that impacted a resident in nearby Mercer County.
According to State Police, a Greenville resident attempted to purchase a trailer on Facebook Marketplace this past week. During the online transaction, and before receiving the trailer, the Greenville woman provided E-Bay gift cards with a combined value of $1,000 to the suspect.
Officials say that the victim then contacted E-Bay and learned that the gift cards had been cleared of their balance.
It is unknown if authorities have any suspects in the case.
