A billion-dollar agency will be returning to normal operations after an announcement last week by Governor Josh Shapiro.
Over 4.5 million birds were killed as a result of avian Influenza since April of 2022. The disease limited the number of potential trading partners with the commonwealth.
But, as there has not been a reported case since Mid-March in Lancaster County, the World Health Organization has recognized the Commonwealth as being free of avian influenza.
Pennsylvania is the fourth largest egg producer in the country and have seen an increase in egg production this year.
