A wildlife organization in Venango County recently rescued a Bald Eagle in Slippery Rock after receiving a quick tip on its whereabouts.
The Tamarack Wildlife Center received a call on Thanksgiving about a Bald Eagle entangled in a fence.
The organization immediately sent staff to Slippery Rock to rescue the bird.
After the rescue, an X-ray was completed and showed no fractures but the eagle had several tendon and ligaments that were damaged. The bird will soon start physical therapy to recover.
Tamarack sent out a thank you to the person who reported the eagle stuck in a fence. Due to the bird being reported so quickly it was not found to be underweight.
