Butler Area School District was recently awarded a grant to engage students with a local nature trail.
BASD was award $5,000 for “BASD STEELS Implementation” a project that will have at least 500 students participate in outdoor hands-on learning experiences along the nature trail at Connoquenessing Elementary Schoo.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection awarded $1.1 million in environmental education and stewardship grants across Pennsylvania.
Over 68 projects across the Commonwealth were funded through the grant.
