A new agreement between the state’s 14 community colleges and an online university will soon allow students at Butler County Community College to pursue a bachelor’s degree online.
The agreement will allow students at BC3 and community colleges across the state to transfer up to 90 credits to Southern New Hampshire University. The goal of the partnership is to provide transfer students with another opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
Tuition at Southern New Hampshire will be discounted by 10 percent for the students who transfer from a community college.
Nearly 500 PA community college graduates attended Southern New Hampshire University last year, which officials say was one of the reasons why this partnership made sense.
The online university offers more than 200 bachelor degrees.
