Eight students were among the latest to graduate from Butler County Community College’s practical nursing program.
The students earned their nursing pins during a ceremony earlier this week.
A majority of students will join Concordia Lutheran Ministries as part of their tuition reimbursement initiative that covers the cost of college for students who agree to work for Concordia after graduation.
Concordia also donated $1 million to the construction of the Victor K. Phillips Nursing and Allied Health Building, which officially opened this fall.
BC3 officials say their emphasis on nursing programming is in response to local healthcare companies in urgent need of nursing staff.
“This certainly speaks to who BC3 is,” Dr. Nick Neupauer, the college’s president said. “We analyze the data and go forward with addressing those needs in the curriculum we offer.”
