The Butler County Community College board of trustees has approved a budget for next fiscal year that includes a slight tuition increase.
Starting July 1, tuition will increase by $5 to $130 per credit hour for Butler County residents.
The comprehensive fee is also increasing by $5 per credit to a total of $57 for Butler County residents. The cost for students to take an online or hybrid course will remain at $25.
All other Pennsylvania residents will pay $290 per credit hour and the same amount in fees. Out-of-state residents will pay $390 per credit hour with the same amount in fees.
BC3’s preliminary budget for the upcoming school year is just under $30 million which includes an increase of $400,000 compared to the current budget.
This budget also projects a nearly $3 million deficit due to the expiration of the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund money this year.
