BC3’s College Within the High School program is continuing to grow in popularity.
College officials say 654 high school students enrolled in the program this past fall; that’s up more than 30 percent compared to five years ago.
The program is available for 10th through 12th graders at high schools in the region.
Tuition and fees for a three-credit course are around $400 according to BC3 officials.
“They’re saving time and they’re saving money,” Erin Cioffi said of BC3’s program, which enables students to earn affordable, transferrable college credits at their high school or learning center, or at a BC3 location.
Cioffi is assistant director of BC3’s high school programming.
BC3’s College Within the High School courses this fall include college algebra, computer information systems, general psychology, microeconomics and principles of sociology.
