A program at Butler County Community College designed to help students receiving cash assistance is at a nine-year high.
College officials say their “Keystone Education Yields Success” program, also known as KEYS, has 60 students participating this fall.
Students range from ages 19 to 58 and are enrolled at both main and branch campuses.
The goal of KEYS is to help its students attend and participate in school with the intent of graduating with a credit or non-credit certificate or associate degree.
The funding for KEYS comes from the state Department of Human Services and is directed to statewide community colleges.
