Butler County Community College is dealing for a few confirmed cases of COVID-19.
BC3 President Dr. Nick Neupauer says the college has six confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of last weekend. He believes that the college has set up a system that is working efficiently.
“We’re on top of it. It certainly takes a lot of work, but I’m pleased with where we are,” Neupauer said.
Neupauer says they’re following similar protocols that have been implemented at other community colleges.
He cites the fact that the campus doesn’t have student housing, which makes their situation different than four-year institutions across the state.
Neupauer also believes that giving people inside the campus and BC3 community up-to-date information.
“We want our internal audiences to know before it’s a lead on the local radio station or above the fold in the local newspaper,” Neupauer said. “We are very strategic and transparent as much as possible in letting folks know. If that communication isn’t there, then the grapevine will start and that could lead to panic.”
