Butler County Community College will receive a large amount of funding support towards the realization of four community service projects.
In November BC3 was awarded a $20,000 Allstate Foundation grant managed by the Center for Expanding Leadership Opportunities, which is a non-profit organization advancing youth-led community service.
The first project, a free fitness event for intellectually and developmentally challenged individuals called “Stronger Together” is scheduled for this Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the BC3 Field House and will see BC3 student-athletes assist Legacy Fitness Butler. Registration by email to [email protected] or [email protected] is required before Thursday.
Other community service projects to be funded by the grant include a donation drive to support parents in need, a community organic garden, and a free junior fire cadet program.
