Two students at Butler County Community College will be receiving a full scholarship to a state university after being recognized for their academic achievements.
20-year-old Bailey Bevington of Worthington and 21-year-old Daniel Hamilton of Zelienople were recognized as part of Phi Theta Kappa’s All Academic Team at a dinner last night in Harrisburg.
The nominees must have a GPA over 3.5 while completing at least 36 credits.
Bevington and Hamilton “are making a tremendous impact in the classroom,” said Dr. Josh Novak, BC3’s dean of students and primary adviser of the college’s Rho Phi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.
“They’re volunteering in the community. And then they are finding additional time to be engaged on campus and contributing to make sure we have a vibrant culture at BC3,” Novak added
Bevington will be attending IUP to study psychology and Hamilton is planning on going to Slippery Rock for hospitality management.
