Support staff at Butler County Community College are considering the possibility of a strike as negotiations last month did not make any progress.
A recent statement issued by the union for the 46 secretarial and clerical employees stated that a negotiation took place May 13th during which “the College made no changes to the wage package from their final best offer issued to the union in March.”
A membership meeting followed on May 23rd and union members rejected that offer. Union membership then “authorized the bargaining team to issue a strike notice to the College at their discretion.”
The BC3 Board of Trustees and union for the support staff have been negotiating since January of 2023 on a contract that expired at the end of last June.
