Butler County Community College has canceled plans for a controlled burn of a building that is being replaced.
BC3 originally planned to allow the Butler County Fire Chiefs Association to burn the old shipping and receiving facility on June 6th as part of a training exercise for firefighters.
However building materials such as metal roof panels needed to complete the new operations building have been delayed in arriving so the college plans on continuing to use the current building for now.
The firefighters training will still be held on June 6th, but at the BC3 Public Safety Training Facility instead. The old building will be demolished to allow for the construction of the new Victor K. Phillips Nursing and Allied Health building with ground breaking planned for later this summer.
