The Butler County Community College women’s volleyball are competing in the 16-team National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national championship tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Lady Pioneers opened the tournament this morning (Thursday) with a 3-0 sweep of #14-ranked Westchester Community College from New York.
BC3 was seeded third in the tournament. With the tournament-opening victory they improved to 23-0 this season.
The Pioneers appearance in the national championship tournament is their second straight, and fifth overall.
BC3 advances to a Quarterfinal contest tonight at 6:30pm against 6th-seeded College of DuPage who defeated Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute 3-2 early this afternoon.
The overall final of the tournament will be held Saturday night.
