Neighboring Beaver County is receiving funds from Shell after air quality violations during the construction of the large cracker plant.
Governor Josh Shapiro announced that $5 million will be going to Beaver County.
Earlier this year, Shell came to the settlement after acknowledging that the company exceeded total emission limitations for air contaminants,
The money will be set aside for projects that provide environmental, health, or quality of life benefits in Beaver County.
There is a 17-member steering committee that will decide where to allocate the funds.
