Officials at the Butler Health System say the hospital will still be offering women’s health services despite the departure of a local practice.
Nancy Gross is the Director of the Ob/Gyn Department at Butler Memorial Hospital. “We are still delivering babies at Butler Memorial Hospital,” Gross said. “Advanced OB/GYN and Associates have severed their agreement to deliver at Butler Hospital.”
Gross said they have three physicians on staff, with plans to add two more in the future. The group that will continue locally is called Women’s Care Associates with a location at the Butler Health System Crossroads Campus.
According to Gross, one of the most familiar and trusted local physicians will continue to see patients in Butler.
“Dr. Maureen Russell is one of the physicians in the WCA practice,” Gross said. “She is a longtime Butler residents and will continue to stay in Butler to provide those services to patients.”
Anyone who would like to set up an appointment with the WCA team should call to begin or transfer care. Advanced Ob/Gyn and Associates will no longer deliver in Butler as of March 1st.
