A bill that would require insurance companies to cover genetic testing and counseling to breast cancer patients will soon become law.
The state house passed the bill last week and Pat Halpin-Murphy of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition calls it a game changer.
“It will provide for women at high risks MRIs at no cost, no co-pay, no co-insurance, and no deductible,” Halpin-Murphy said.
The bill also ensures costs associated with BRCA-related genetic testing and counseling are covered. Halpin-Murphy says this bill will save lives.
