Pennsylvania lawmakers have approved a bill that will help regulate the marketing of vaping devices.
The bill aims to put Pennsylvania’s vaping electronic products (ENDS) under the same framework as tobacco products, addressing concerns about unapproved products on the market.
Once signed into law, the legislation would require vape manufactures to receive approval for marketing from the FDA and have marketing information publicly available.
Attorney General Dave Sunday came out in support of H.B. 1425, earlier this year saying children are, “most susceptible to such marketing.” Sunday’s office would over the enforcement of this bill.
Last week the bill was approved by the Senate and then sent back to the house after there were added amendments. After passing a second time in the house the bill will now be sent to Governor Shapiros desk.
