Lawmakers in Harrisburg will send a bill to the Governor’s desk that increases the penalties for corruption of minor’s charges.
The legislation passed through the house and senate without a single no vote.
The bill will increase the corruption of minors charge from a misdemeanor to a felony when the alleged perpetrator is a peace officer or employee of a school.
If the alleged perpetrator attempts to corrupts, aids, abets, entices, or encourages any minor in the commission of a sexual offense the penalty will rise to a second-degree felony.
The bill will become state law 60 days after it is signed by the governor.
