The Buffalo Bills defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-15 last night. Buffalo picked off a Ben Roethlisberger pass near the end of the first half for a touchdown, and went on to score 23 unanswered points in the game before the Steelers scored in the fourth quarter. Big Ben threw for just 187 yards, two scores and was picked off twice.
The loss was the Steelers second straight, and drops them behind Kansas City in the race for the AFC top playoff seed. The Steelers are now 11-2 overall heading into their Monday Night Football match-up next week with Cincinnati. The Bills improved to 10-3. They are now two games in front of Miami, who fell to 8-5 after their loss to the Chiefs.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was sacked for the first time in five games. The Steelers lost lineman Matt Feiler and Kevin Dotson to injury during the game last night.
The Steelers defense set an NFL record by recording a sack for their 70th consecutive game.
Prior to the game last night – the Steelers placed linebacker Robert Spillane on injured reserve due to a knee injury and brought back Ulysees Gilbert to the 53-man roster. Gilbert injured his back earlier this season.
–Kansas City improved to 12-1 with a 33-27 victory over Miami.
–Dallas defeated Cincinnati 30-7. The Bengals fell to 2-10-1. Dallas is now 4-9.
–Tennessee improved to 9-4 with a 31-10 win over Jacksonville. The Titans remain tied for first place in the AFC South with Indianapolis. The Colts defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 44-27.
Tonight in Monday Night Football – Cleveland will host Baltimore. Kick-off is 8:15pm. The Browns remain in the hunt for the AFC North title with the Steelers loss at 9-3. Baltimore is trying to remain in the playoff hunt as well at 7-5.
