The Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the Chicago Blackhawks 5-3 snapping an eight-game winning streak. Patrick Hornqvist, Jake Guentzel and Derick Brassard scored the Penguins goals, but the Pens went 0-for-3 on the power play, and were shut out in the third period. Goaltender Casey DeSmith stopped 26 of 30 shots.
It was the 10th loss in a row to the Blackhawks. The Pens host Florida to complete their home stand tomorrow night.
The loss drops the Pens out of a first-place tie with Washington. The Pens had tied the Caps for the Metropolitan Division lead after shutting out Winnipeg 4-0 Friday. Washington defeated Detroit 3-2 last night.
Penguins defenseman Justin Schultz has begun to skate. Schultz suffered a broken ankle October 13th.
