The Butler BlueSox have taken over first place in the Prospect League Eastern Division following a 7-3 victory last night over Chillicothe. The win combined with Champion City’s 6-1 loss to West Virginia has given the BlueSox a 1/2-game lead.
Every BlueSox batter reached base at least once last night, with eight of the nine hitters reaching base twice.
The BlueSox host West Virginia for an abbreviated doubleheader tonight. The First game will begin at 5:35pm. and is the remainder of a game that was suspended by rain back in June. The score is tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the 10th inning. Following that game, the two teams meet in their regularly scheduled game that begins at 6:35pm. The Miners are just one game behind the BlueSox in the Eastern Division.
