A boil water advisory is in place for customers of the East Brady Borough Water System.
The Department of Environmental Protection issued the advisory after a mysterious chemical was found at the treatment plant.
Officials say a mislabeled shipment of chemicals, which was identified as sodium bisulfite, was mistakenly fed into the plant. That led to the loss of disinfection.
Initially, the DEP told customers to not drink the water at all when the issue was discovered Saturday. Once they identified the chemical, it was adjusted to a boil water advisory.
