A Pennsylvania football coached accused of hazing a football player has been charged in their death.
Attorney General Dave Sunday has announced that Bucknell University Strength Coach Mark Kulbis has been charged in death of Calvin Dickey of Florida.
According to a release from the AG’s office, Kulbis directed Dickey to do extensive calisthenics even knowing it put Dickey at risk due to his Sickle Cell Trait.
Even as Dickey began to struggle he received no help or medical attention until he collapsed during the intense workout. Dickey would die two days later.
Sunday accuses Kulbis of using exercises that were not appropriate or safe.
The hazing incident has led the AG to charge Kulbis with felony aggravated hazing and misdemeanor counts of involuntary manslaughter.
