The budget impasse at the state level is now starting to have impact on Butler County operations.
Earlier this week Domestic Relations was notified that they will now have funds held up until the state budget is approved.
Local food banks have also gone six months without receiving reimbursement from the state.
County Commissioners say that highlights the importance of maintaining a healthy fund balance, so the county can draw down funds if situations like this arise.
However, the commissioners also noted that the county gets interest on its fund balance and loses that money whenever funds are withdrawn.
