The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has announced a farm in Butler County will now be a forever farm.
The Ruckdeschel Family Real Estate Trust farm in Buffalo Township has received a total of nearly $187,000 from the state to remain a farm forever. Butler County also put forward over $2,000 for a total of nearly $189,000.
The 43-acre crop and livestock farm is now one of 524 that have been preserved since Governor Josh Shapiro first took office in January of 2023.
Nearly $154 million of state funds have been spent turning Pennsylvania farms into forever farms.
