Ahead of a busy 2026 for Pennsylvania, businesses are being encouraged to help with clean up efforts through a PennDOT program.
The Department’s Sponsor-A-Highway program features redesigned signs with the “Let Freedom Ring” motto.
This program provides an opportunity for visitors to the state for events like the NFL Draft, the PGA Championship, and the FIFA World Cup to see businesses that care about their community.
Local businesses and organizations can secure agreements with a PennDOT vendor who uses skilled maintenance forces to remove litter on roadways such as interstates and expressways, especially in areas where volunteer litter groups cannot safely pick up litter.
55 businesses in Pennsylvania currently participate in the program, accounting for more than 375 miles of roadway that are cleaned six to eight times throughout the year.
