A local EMS provider is continuing to seek financial support from the municipalities it serves.
After attending a meeting of Butler City Council last week, representatives from the Butler Ambulance Service spoke to the Butler Township Commissioners Monday night about some of the struggles and shortfalls they have been experiencing.
According to Director Jesse Haas, Butler Ambulance can no longer sustain 24/7 staffing at all three of their bases of operation, including one in Butler Township on Whitestown Road.
Butler Ambulance is seeking the revenue of a half-mil tax from all the municipalities that they serve in order to be able to continue the care and protection local governments are required to provide residents under state law.
Butler Township Board of Commissioners President Ed Natali expressed appreciation for the work done by local EMS crews and said that the presentation had “given us a lot to contemplate.”
