High School Basketball:
–Butler will host New Castle tonight for a 7:30pm tip-off. Pre-game on WBUT begins at 7:20pm.
–Knoch will host Highlands. Pre-game on WISR begins at 7:15pm. Tip-off is 7:30pm.
Prior to the Butler basketball game tonight, the Butler Area School District Athletic Hall of Fame will induct its 15th class. Four former student/athletes and one coach will be honored with a ceremony being held beginning at 6pm in the high school cafeteria. The 2024 class features: football place-kicker/punter and 2002 graduate Justin Cherry, baseball standout Clint Eury, a 2001 graduate. Track and field record-holder – the late Tom Paserba, who was a 1970 graduate. 1994 graduate and multi-sport athlete Allison Sams Devaux, who earned 12 varsity letters in her career. Finally, former boys soccer coach Jeff Schnur, who was a 1972 graduate. Prior to becoming a district administrator, Schnur led the Butler boys to six section championships during his tenure from 1982 through 1993. Jeff was named the WPIAL coach of the year in 1992. The honorees will also be recognized during tonight’s Golden Tornado basketball game.
