After several months of discussion, the City of Butler has approved a plan to change the collector of property and per capita tax revenue.
At their Thursday meeting, Council approved motions to transfer the task to Butler County Treasurer Diane Marburger from previous tax collection agency Berkheimer.
At a total cost of $3 per tax card, Council members believe that this option will be the most cost effective and convenient for City residents.
This change will take effect at the end of this year. Marburger’s office already collects these taxes for several other municipalities in Butler County.
