Butler City Council has created a Safety Committee to review and prevent work-related accidents.
Council took the action at their meeting last week in response to a notification from the City’s Workers Comp Insurance carrier.
In addition to Police Chief Bob O’Neill and Fire Chief Chris Switala, the committee will also include representatives from the City’s Public Works Department and employees who work in the City Building.
Meetings will be held on a regular basis in order to address concerns about chemicals and clutter that could lead to workplace accidents.
The insurance company will also provide training and Butler City Mayor Bob Dandoy will attend to represent Council.
