Butler County will be submitting their plan for the annual Human Services Block Grant.
The county plan was for $10.1 million.
Officials say the money goes toward drug and alcohol programs, mental health treatment, homelessness prevention, and other programs.
The money comes from state and federal grants, but since it arrives in a block grant, it allows the county to utilize the dollars as it sees fit.
In the last year, the county used the grant funding to provide nearly 11,000 situations of assistance for county residents.
