At the PIAA Track & Field Championships over the weekend:
–Levi Prementine of Slippery Rock captured two state titles. He won the 300-hurdles in a Butler County sweep of the top three spots in Class 2A on Saturday. Freeport’s Isaac Wetzel was the runner-up. Prementine’s teammate Eli Anderson was third. Prementine won the Long Jump event on Friday.
–The Slippery Rock 1600-Relay team took 2nd. Slippery Rock also finished runner-up in the Class 2A team finals with 40 points. Danville won the team title with 45 points.
–Butler’s Drew Griffith was the runner-up in the Class 3A 1,600-meter run on Friday and was third overall in the 3,200-meter run Saturday. Megan Baggetta of the Golden Tornado took third in the Triple Jump on Friday.
–Union/AC Valley took three Class 2A state titles home on Friday. Evelyn Bliss won the Javelin with a state record throw of 170-feet, two inches. Hayden Smith won the High Jump and his teammate Landon Chalmers won the Discus.
