To help continue the improvement of emergency medical services in Butler, Butler County has entered into an agreement with local EMS organizations, using opioid settlement money.
When ambulances are called out to service for overdose patients and patients are not transportation to the hospital emergency providers are not paid, but the new agreement will see them paid a small fee. The county has set aside $25,000 of opioid settlement money that will reimburse all emergency services $125 for these calls.
Currently only six providers have signed the agreement but, because the contract is back dated to April 1, 2024 commissioners wanted to start paying out the current providers.
EMS providers that have not agreed can still join they just need to contact the county to be added to the list.
