Two Philadelphia natives are behind bars following a drug bust earlier this week in the city of Butler.
Officers with the Butler County Drug Task Force observed 22-year-old Kamal Bennett leave a residence in the 200 block of West Brady Street on foot Monday and then meet up with a vehicle nearby.
After Bennett left, police stopped the vehicle and the driver stated that she had purchased $50 of crack cocaine from Bennett. Bennett was taken into custody and found to possess 13 baggies of suspected crack cocaine.
Officers continued surveillance of the West Brady Street apartment building and identified 25-year-old Khaleaf Lindsay who was detained on an active arrest warrant.
Police then obtained a search warrant to search an apartment that the two men had been occupying. They found nearly four ounces of suspected crack cocaine, 225 stamp bags of suspected heroin, 19 Oxycodone pills, nearly $1,300 in cash, and a gun.
Following the arrests, both men were charged with felony Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance and placed in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bond each.
