Since the number of confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 at Butler Memorial Hospital continues to be low, the Butler Health System is making some adjustments to policies.
Operation rooms will go from 50% utilization to 75% beginning the week of May 18. Surgeons will assess risk and determine who will be able to have procedures but nursing home patients will not schedule elective operations. Doctors’ offices will see additional patients, but screened for risk.
Other changes that have been adopted include the inpatient chemical dependency treatment will reopen as of today, May 14, 2020, and the Sleep Lab will reopen as well.
Visitor restrictions will remain in place for now. These new guidelines are subject to immediate change based on new developments with local COVID-19 cases.
The Butler Health System continues to encourage everyone to practice good hygiene by washing your hands frequently, don’t touch your face, and cover coughs and sneezes. Also, it is still recommended to maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from others. If you feel sick, stay home.
