The Butler Health System is asking for the public to be aware of a scam recently reported by a local resident.
A community member told BHS that they received a robo call from a number identified as Butler Heath System asking for a social security number to address a violation of health records.
The robo call also asked that the person being called have health insurance information nearby. The person being called was able to recognize the scam and tried calling the number back but it just rang.
Anyone receiving a call like this should be aware that this is a scam and they are not actually being called by BHS.
